Municipality Okrug
Okrug, often called Okruk, is a municipality on the west side of the Čiovo Island, which consists of two charming traditional settlements, Okrug Gornji and Okrug Donji. These settlements are also popular for their beautiful pebble beaches and lovely bays, which offer a spectacular view of the picturesque Archipelago of the nearby islands.
Okrug Gornji on island Čiovo
Okrug Gornji is known for the versatility of touristic possibilities, various entertainment, sport and recreation activities, gastronomic offer of traditional sea and Dalmatian specialities, various folklore and cultural events, nightlife and a range of accommodation types. Our Villa Luna is located in Okrug Gornji on island Čiovo. Okrug Gornji is a lively place, ideal for vacations filled with fun and entertaining events, but it also has its calmer and more peaceful parts, so everyone can find something for himself in Okrug Gornji. In Okrug Gornji there are historical sites that should definitely be visited, such as the Church of the Rising Cross, then the 500 years old Church of St. Tudor and the 300 years old Church of St. Carlo Boromey.
In Okrug Gornji you can enjoy diverse activities, if you are up to an Active Holiday. There is a range of contents for older and for younger guests, the youngest ones and for families. Close to the Villa Luna Apartments you can find many different activities, like one day excursions around Dalmatia for families, maybe a romantic trip or a fun trip with a group of friends to the nearby islands of the Archipelago – Šolta, Drvenik Veliki and Drvenik Mali. Close to Villa Luna Apartments in Okrug Gornji you can also find fish-picnics boats or rent a pedalling boats or bicycles and close to Villa Luna there is also a Tennis court. So, as far as the holiday activities in Okrug Gornji and in the Villa Luna Apartments are concerned, you can be sure that you won’t be bored and that you will always be able to find something funny or interesting or relaxing to do.
The Okruk beach or the “Copacabana of Trogir” and Milićevo
The Okrug beach, also known as the Copacabana, is the most famous beach on the Riviera of Trogir, which hosts diverse activities and events, day and night. There are beach bars with good music, restaurants and sports centres, so this beach is as equally attractive in the evenings as during the day time, because during the nights many entertaining events are being held there, like parties with world famous guest DJ-s. This beach is therefore called the “Copacabana of Trogir” for a good reason. The Copacabana is located in Okrug Gornji on island Čiovo. On the beach Okrug there is a great sea taxi service, ideal transport in the nights filled with fun and action. The ticket price for Taxi-boat is 2-3 Euros for adults and 1.50 Euro for children.
Okrug Donji
Okrug Donji is much more peaceful than Okrug Gornji and it is never crowded. Okrug Donji is famous for traditional fishermen feasts, which take place throughout the summer. Okrug Donji is an ideal location for diving and surfing. In Okrug Donji there is a small 17th century church of St. John The Baptist.
